Kolkata Sanved’s Emergency Response to Super Cyclone AMPHAN in North & South 24 Parganas

July 10, 2020

Super Cyclone Amphan made landfall on May 20, 2020, in West Bengal, completely devastating large parts of the state. The effects of the cyclone were especially destructive in North and South 24 Parganas, where  Kolkata Sanved has been  implementing its psychosocial rehabilitation and wellbeing programme, for a considerable period of time. Considering the devastation, relief and ration distribution became the priority.  We  joined hands with local partners for the same. They included Dearah Association for Social and Humanitarian Action (ASHA), in North 24 Parganas, Sundarban Social Development Center (SSDC) in South 24 Parganas and Bandsra Birangana Seva Samity (BBSS) in Canning, Basanti, Kultali.

Following the ration distribution and relief work, our psychosocial rehabilitation and wellbeing programme was strengthened.
