Kolkata Sanved COVID 19 Awareness Programme

Overview:

Kolkata Sanved Team visited the Tongpara and Mosul villages to spread awareness regarding the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and the safety measures to be taken for combating the same. This was done in collaboration with the South Kolkata Sheela Sengupta Memorial Foundation (SKSSMF).

Families in Tongpara and Mosul villages who were living below the poverty line were shortlisted. These families have a monthly income within the range of Rs. 2500 to Rs. 3000, wherein their daily existence is a constant struggle for survival.

Support Extended:

 Kolkata Sanved went beyond its work of providing psychosocial support using DMT and proactively decided to distribute dry rations comprising of –

  • Rice
  • Pulses
  • Soya Bean
  • Chhatu
  • Mustard Oil 

Besides these basic food rations, Hygiene Kits were also provided which consisted of –

  • Masks 
  • Surf
  • Soaps
  • Hand Sanitizers
  • Phenyl
  • Sanitary Napkins 
  • Mosquito Net

Moreover, we created an awareness regarding the ongoing pandemic and the safety measures to be followed to prevent its spread. A total of 60 families, 30 in Tongpara village and 30 in Mosul village, living in abject poverty were the beneficiaries of the above distribution.
