Theme and Subject: Fourth Biennial Global Summit on Dance Movement Therapy for Change: Addressing a World in Crisis : Building Resilience Through Dance Movement Therapy(DMT) and Creative Art Therapy(CAT). Date Time & Place: This will be a two full day (January 12, 13, 2023-9.30a.m.-6p.m.) Summit at The Open Space Society(TOSS), allowing time and space of experiential process, discussion and sharing through workshops, panel discussions, presentations and demonstrations.
Programme overview: Over two days there will be 5 panels, 12 experiential processes with 35 panelists and experts of dance, movement, music, story-telling, visual arts, theatre of the oppressed, art installation and interactive discussion and plenary session with participants’ sharing. The key themes and areas include Role of DMT & CAT in climate change, public health (pandemic/post pandemic-new normal, mental health), Conflict and Social Cohesion. The Summit will create an inclusive space for people with different lived experiences to engage with, explore and value the use of DMT and CAT to address world crisis together.
Participants: We are expecting a gathering of 200 participants from 7 countries. The participants would include, Experts and Practitioners in DMT and other Creative Arts, Survivor leaders, youth leaders, Mental health professionals, Public Health experts, medical professionals; Educators, Civil Society Organizations, Funding Bodies, Govt. representatives and Students.
