Based off of real life issues,a performance piece called 'Breaking the Silence' brought together a performative storytelling ensemble of artists from India and the U.S. in collaboration with the American Center Kolkata on 2 March in Ranchi,India.
Kolkata Sanved in collaboration with Kaikhali Samadhan Samity with the support of Arohan,organized an awareness program on anti trafficking which attempted to mobilize 100 women from Jaynagar,South 24 Parganas to gain awareness about the causes of trafficking , their rights and the way in which to embody and enforce them.The program was held on 27th February 2017 at Basanti Natya Mandir,Roop O Arup Mancha,Jaynagar,South 24 Parganas. It was a 3 hours program comprising of theme based performance,sharing view points on the issues by representatives from the local government,police authorities and organizers,workshop on Dance Movement Therapy and interactive session with the audience on the issues.

Welcome Professor Bernstein to Kolkata Sanved family.Once again Kolkata Sanved is delighted to have the presence of Bonnie Bernstein,Dance/Movement Therapist,M.Ed, MFT, BC-DMT, from 30th November to 20th December 2016.Since it is the 9th year she is traveling from California,USA to Kolkata Sanved to facilitate the Western approaches of DMT to Kolkata Saved DMT practitioners.Our deepest gratitude towards her immense contribution for Kolkata Sanved growth in the sector of DMT and in development of DMT practitioners.Bonnie Bernstein, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist,Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist,Registered Expressive Arts Therapist and also a CAMFT Certified Supervisor,with an experience of 40 years.At Kolkata Sanved this year she will take up total 17 days,119 hours of training for our core group of practitioners,junior practitioners and also for our new batch of Training of Trainers program.The core group of Sanved will undergo an advanced level of training and for Training of Trainers batch it will be a valuable experience to explore Western aspects of DMT.We thank Bonnie Bernstein for her continuous support and generous contribution to Kolkata Sanved.

The DMT for Change Summit represents a new era in the life of Kolkata Sanved’s ground-breaking work championing the power of Dance Movement Therapy. Our programmes offering a unique DMT curriculum have changed lives locally, nationally and internationally. Kolkata Sanved uses Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) to provide an alternative approach to the recovery, healing and psychosocial rehabilitation of survivors of trafficking and sexual violence. Working with survivors and other severely marginalized communities, Kolkata Sanved is establishing itself as a Centre of Excellence in South Asia. Kolkata Sanved has done a research study to assess the impact of dance movement therapy (DMT) on the traumatic symptoms of the survivors of trafficking and sexual violence for the first time in Institutional care with Sukanya government shelter home, West Bengal residents and has also partnered with Rescue Foundation under the same research study, at Maharashtra, a non-profit, government recognized and registered NGO, working for rescue, rehabilitation and repatriation of victims of human trafficking from different parts of India, Nepal & Bangladesh and sold for forced prostitution. The study result has already been shared through a consultation meeting at Mumbai on February 22nd 2016 and for the West Bengal a State level Consultation would be conducted during May, 2016 to share on the findings.This whole process would be winded up by a final certification ceremony for the participants which is going to be held on 11th and 12th of April, 2016 in Mumbai and same with the Sukanya home participants and alsothe Deonar home residents through Khula Aasman,in May,2016
Kolkata Sanved in collaboration with Rescue Foundation with the support from Kamonohashi Japan & IJM Mumbai are now organizing a “Impact Assessment Consultation meeting on 22nd February at Mumbai. This collaboration with the support of Kamonohashi, Japan and International Justice Mission, Mumbai has already resulted in a scientific analysis to assess the impact of dance movement therapy (DMT) on the traumatic symptoms of the survivors of trafficking and sexual violence for the first time in Institutional care.

Kolkata Sanved invited to present women empowerment through dance movement and other arts at Siliguri on 12th February at 5th TIP Conclave. Experience, Express and Commit is a collaborative initiative of Kolkata Sanved, Talitha Arts, and Blossomy, along with mural artist Mr. Joel, with the support of the American Center and Shakti Bahini.The evening program showcased four different arts - Mural, Dance & Movement, Music, and Audio-Visual - to engage the community and raise awareness about trafficking as well as express, understand, and feel Empowerment.The program will be hosted at the Siliguri Citi Center shopping mall. On February 6th and 7th, Dance for Revolution will once again bring the youth of Kolkata together to rise against gender-based violence! Last year we launched our annual Dance for Revolution campaign along with One Billion Rising and Eve Ensler, the American playwright, performer, activist and author of the Vagina Monologues.This year, we join forces with Dr. Mallika Sarabhai, the renowned dancer, choreographer, publisher, writer and actor in a call to action to the youth of Kolkata to engage in the movement against gender violence.On February 6th, two seminars will be held with Dr. Sarabhai in collaboration with the School of Women’s Studies at Jadavpur University and with SWAR, the gender cell at St. Xavier’s College. The beats of Pandit Tanmoy Bose’s drumming ensemble will bring us to our feet at each seminar as we dance, drum and rise toward a world free of violence. Kolkata Sanved is excited to have Bonnie Bernstein for her 8th year to provide Advance Dance Movement Therapy Training. She will be conducting total 23 days 161 hours of DMT curriculum with 30 participants from Kolkata and Coochbehar. We thank Bonnie Bernstein for her generous contribution to Kolkata Sanved. Bonnie Bernstein is a Family Therapist and dance/movement therapist with 40 years of experience. She is a professor at Kennedy University and Director of Center For Movement Education and Research in California. Since 2008 she has come to Kolkata one month each year to work with Kolkata Sanved: Empowering Lives Through Dance. Bonnie is an activist for social change and has great admiration for the many wonderful people and organizations that support the Kolkata community.

One leading Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) practitioner, Mehraj Khatoon and one trainee Mukesh Mani have been offered one-year scholarship along with two years employment opportunity by Darpana Academy of Performing Arts, Ahmedabad. Both budding artists left for Ahmedabad to kick-start their fledging career. Both graduated from Training of Trainer programme offered by Kolkata Sanved Mehraj is further determined to run her own DMT unit from Ahmedabad and shares, “I am a senior DMT practitioner of Kolkata Sanved. I feel very proud that I am able to fulfill my dream through Sanved using DMT to bring change in other people’s lives. My new journey begins from today as I just arrived in Ahmedabad a few hours back. I can’t believe that I am at Darpana and will work here. I am into another vision of life.” Mukesh on the other hand confesses that it is a dream too good to turn true especially coming from an underprivileged background and shares, “I am very happy that I am able to make it happen. I just started my career with Sanved in the last one year. I grew up in Mukti Rehabilitation centre. I can’t explain it through words as I it has been my childhood dream to become a dancer. But I always thought that it’s difficult to see a dream become reality for poor people. But I learnt through DMT to envision life in my own terms and it has helped me to find a new direction in life.” This collaboration opens doors for the reintegration of survivors into the mainstream world of performing arts.We congratulate Mehraj and Mukesh and applaud Dr. Sarabhai for believing in the process of social transformation through dance.
Kolkata Sanved is partnering with HELP and Terre des homes Foundation (Tdh) to conduct workshops in Dance Movement Therapy, which will work as a complementary element of rehabilitation for the affected children of the HUDHUD Cyclone. DMT practitioners from Kolkata Sanved will be in Vizag from the 11th – 19th May to support, contribute and be a part of the relief and rehabilitation project titled “Toofan – Cyclone Hudhud – Immediate relief, repair and safety of the Child Care Institutions (CCIs)” in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana State.

April 29th marks Kolkata Sanved’s Foundation Day! 11 years ago,five young dancers teamed up with Sohini Chakraborty to build an organization that would grow to pioneer the use of Dance Movement Therapy for the psychosocial rehabilitation of survivors of trafficking and violence not only across South Asia but globally.Since 2004,our programs have helped to heal and empower thousands of youth and individuals while bringing much attention to the need for mental,emotional,and physical wellbeing for survivors of violence and sexual trauma.We will celebrate our 11th Foundation Day with a grand reunion,brining together many who have engaged with our programs over the years. Mr. Astad Deboo, well known for his use of dance within the social sector,will be presenting certificates to the students. He understands the power of creative movement and through work with diverse populations, has seen the healing potential of the arts for individual wellbeing. Mr. Deboo will present a poignant and motivating speech and piece of free movement that is sure to inspire. We are very happy that we have successfully completed two years of our implementation of the Restoring Smiles Through Dance module in collaboration with Save the Children India, Mumbai and Kamonohashi Project. The Kolkata Sanved Team is travelling to Chennai this week to learn from the work of three inspired organizations.We will be visiting The Banyan,a non-profit organization promoting wellbeing,human rights and care for individuals living with mental illness.We will also be visiting Spaces,a multi-arts organization founded by the late Chandra Lekha who's groundbreaking work combining dance and feminism continues to influence artists nationally and globally.Last but not least our team will be spending some time with the Nalanda Way Foundation,an NGO that shares our belief in the creative potential of all children.The Foundation works with children in the poorest districts across India,helping them speak up and out through theater,visual arts,music,radio,film, and dance.We have been inspired by the diverse work of these excellent organizations promoting art in India and are excited to learn from their practices and approach.
From Monday,February 22nd through Wednesday,February 24th,Kolkata Sanved is pleased to host three day conference event in collaboration with Jawaharlal Nehru University of India and Warwick University of the UK. During the three day event, we will explore embodied empowerment; how interventions aiming to empower survivors of trafficking and violence through the kinesthetic processes of dance, movement, and dance movement therapy can be robust in theory and effective in practice. We will hear from dance movement therapy practitioners as they share.... through dance and DMT. A presentation from JNU and Warwick will shed light on research in various countries, communities, and focus groups to expand an understanding of embodied empowerment through ideas and research findings. The event will conclude with a roundtable conference that will explore how similar empowering experiences work in the context of other local organizations aiding young survivors of violence as well as how theory and practice can support one another in the effort to empower individuals and work against trafficking and violence.
On December 18th,to mark Nirbhaya day,Kolkata Sanved in collaboration with American Centre and St. Xavier's College will team up with Eve Ensler, the renowned American playwright, performer, feminist and activist best known for her play, the Vagina Monologues, as well as the anti-violence against women campaign, One Billion Rising. Together we will stage an inspirational performance showcasing the power of dance and movement to amplify the voices of anti-gender based violence activists in India. This year’s inaugural performance will bring together over 100 youth residing in and around Kolkata who have found freedom in dance through the Kolkata Sanved program.Youth will rise together in an un-choreographed dance of freedom, making an internationally recognized statement against gender based violence which will be professionally filmed and distributed online. Then over 600 youth, supporters and artists from across the city will come together to dance and rise against violence and discrimination at St. Xavier's College. From this year forward,The Kolkata Sanved One Billion Rising performance will be an annual event highlighting the power of movement to change lives and to change the world. On October 14th, Kolkata Sanved will initiate a new partnership with Scottish Dance Theatre,organized by the British Council, Kolkata.The two organizations will work together from the 14th through the 20th of this month,holding daily collaborative workshops based on sharing the diverse knowledge and experiences of each group.Workshops which will include diverse movement,choreography,and field visits to Kolkata Sanved partner organizations and Dance Movement Therapy sessions.Together the two unique organizations will develop a curriculum which combines the dance forms of Kolkata Sanved and Scottish Dance Theatre.The curriculum will be presented to the entirety of both organizations on the afternoon of Monday,October 20th in a celebration of dance,diversity,and social change through movement.

Kolkata Sanved had a spectacular performance at Jadavpur University, Kolkata in partnership with Pandit Tanmoy Bose and the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad South Asian Study program. The performance was hosted by The School for International Relations during their Scholastic Conclave event at the University. • Afternoon- in Salt Lake Sector 5, Sanved initiated a dialogue and discussion with India Power Company employees to ensure violence free work environments for women. • In the evening- Sanved celebrateed the power of dance with 25 young Dance Movement Therapy and Creative Therapy Practitioners.

An Photo exhibition on Kolkata Sanved survivor’s journey. “If I Could Fly…” exhibits both the pictures the young women took of themselves as well as the Brooke’s portraits. This is a collaboration between U.S based non profit Blossomy, who invited Brooke Shaden US based fine art photographer to work with Kolkata Sanved. The nature of Brooke’s photography is both surreal and whimsical but is also a heavily planned affair that comes from wanting to tell stories.The members of Kolkata Sanved who participated in the workshop have experienced personal flight through dance in their challenge to overcome the utter grounding of being survivor. In this workshop, along with the camera as a device for expression, they not only answered the question, “If I Could Fly”, they were able to soar.
Dance Movement Therapy Workshop for Care Givers: GAAT W- International Secretariat Kolkata Sanved ASIA Initiative 16th Feb-26th Feb Bangkok: 7 countries 20 care providers from 17 anti-trafficking organisations will be joining this programme. This entire programme will includes training, follow up, supervision after workshop during implementation.
Training of Trainer 21st-31st August 2013 Kolkata Sanved develops a specialized Anti-Trafficking Dance Movement Therapy module to work with trafficking survivors. To make it successful Kolkata Sanved launch its Training of Trainers programme in the month of August 2013 in Mumbai. The training will capacitate the selected trainees to implement Restoring Smiles Through dance programme in Mumbai. After completion the training 12 practitioners from 5 anti trafficking organizations will implement this specialized methodology.
Kolkata Sanved is officially launching its "Saving Lives Through Dance" programme in Mumbai on 19th July 2013. Partnering with Save The Children India, Mumbai, Kolkata Sanved has created a truly innovative Anti-Trafficking programme based on our published research report: “Restoring Smiles Through Dance.” The official launch event is a Stakeholders meeting in Mumbai on 19th July to introduce Kolkata Sanved. Kolkata Sanved and Center for Lifelong Learning, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai are proud to announce a comprehensive 500 hours certificate course on Dance Movement Therapy, which will commence from August 2013 in Kolkata. The course spans across 8 months including 180 hours of field practice and internship.

Sohini Chakraborty was invited to the US of A for International Women’s Week organized by Vital Voices. This visit included joining other members of Global Leadership Network in a series of public discussions and small group meetings to speak on Violence against women.
Kolkata Sanved Director Sohini Chakraborty was selected as Mentee of ‘The Global Ambassadors Program. Global Ambassadors Program in India consists of two conferences (held in Delhi and Mumbai) and an intensive and innovative mentorship initiative for Global Ambassadors and mentees. The program was centered on the theme of “Women’s Advancement in India’s Growing Economy,” and will underscore the critical function that women in India can and must play in moving the nation forward economically and highlight the role of women as drivers of innovation and economic growth.
Kolkata Sanved was invited for Vital Voices Global Partnership Network at Capetown, South Africa. The programme was a 3-day working conference and leadership forum in addition to an opportunity to connect with fellow members of GLN to develop new relationships and leverage existing ones.
Deputy Asst Secretary James Moore, Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, US Consulate general Dean Thompson visited Kolkata Sanved on November 8 to see the impact of Kolkata Sanved programme as well as to meet other NGOs who are working in Anti Trafficking. The whole meeting was a joint organization by Kolkata Sanved and American Center. Kolkata Sanved staff conducted DMT session, shared their journey and the programme ended with a short performance.

Since 2008 Dance/Movement Therapist Bonnie Bernstein, M.Ed, MFT, BC-DMT has traveled for one month each year from California, US to Kolkata to work with the Sanved community. She has contributed professional training and therapy in Western methods of Dance/Movement Therapy (DMT) for our core group of Sanved Senior and Junior trainers and also for our Training Of Trainers program. From 2008-2013 she has contributed close to 600 hours of training and therapy to the Sanved program. Experiences with Professor Bernstein have enhanced the capacity of the Sanved trainers, providing invaluable personal growth and skill for work within our Kolkata community. A Kolkata Sanved Initiative in Collaboration with Praajak, Supported by India Foundation for the Arts.We want to capture the daily life experience of the children, which is full of rhythm and movement in the Platform Beat. We took 1 full year to nurture this idea and take the very first step. But the question always remained where is the child in the entire platform beat and how creatively we can connect with it? Finally the Platform Beat programme evolved where the platform life is the artistic stage and the children are artists themselves, the synergy between the two thoughts gave rise to Platform Beat.
On the occasion of Children’s Day, 2013, Kolkata Sanved celebrated childhood in collaboration with American Center, Kolkata and the Department of Women and Child Development and Directorate Social Welfare, Government of West Bengal on 12th November 2013 from 3:30pm to 5:00pm at Lincoln Room, American Center. Ms.Helen LaFave, U.S.Council General and Dr.Sashi Panja, Parliamentary Secretary, Government of West Bengal, Member of West Bengal Legislative Assembly inaugurated the programme. Eight partner NGOs (All Bengal Women's Union, Apne Aap Women Worldwide, CINI, Dhrubashram, Hamari Muskan, Mukti, Newlight, OFFER) across Kolkata participated in this celebration. Children-in-Conflict with Law (CCLs) residing at Dhrubashram, Ariadaha participated in this programme for the first time. Anonder Shoishab.
To celebrate the International Women week Capgeminy invited Kolkata Sanved to host a one-day workshop with their Women Council named “Winspire” which constantly strives to work with diversity and in making their workplace the best for women employees.
It’s been a Global Shake to end violence and the medium was DANCE. 14th February 2013 was marked in a Global Strike to demand an end to violence. The whole campaign medium was “ DANCE” .We at Kolkata Sanved took an active part in this campaign with West Bengal One Billion Rising Network. Kolkata Sanved Dancers played a big role to lead a movement choir at “ SAHID MINAR” and PARK HOTEL with thousands of people along with women and men in Kolkata.
Famous Photographer Brooke Shaden conduct a workshop on photography with Kolkata Sanved members with the support of Blossomy. Her subjects are often portrayed as flying or floating and seem to defy gravity. This technique influenced the direction of the workshop as a device for telling a story, especially for the participants to tell their story. We did a creative exercises to access the tales that live inside the participants and are reflected in the images that are both taken of the participants and the images that the participants took of themselves.
Jeevika( an NGO that works for the promotion of women’s and girls’ rights across 47 villages in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal) invited Kolkata Sanved to perform at the carnival “Anande Konyakal:Celebrating Girlhood” and also invited to facilitate Dance Movement workshop between 3 pm and 5 pm with around 75 children. Also occured - January 2013 Dance Movement Therapy Workshop in Mumbai and 8th-12th January 2013, Mumbai with Arpan.
Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) workshop was designed with basic implementation of DMT and Kolkata Sanved process. This workshop was designed for organizations/individuals, students who are interested to incorporate DMT as a tool for their profession or social change. The main objective is to introduce Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) as an alternative form of therapy and a tool for psycho-social rehabilitation.
Kolkata Sanved was invited to conduct an orientation workshop with the post graduate students of JNU Delhi as well as conduct a group discussion about the use of DMT in anti trafficking with a panel of professors within and outside JNU.
Kolkata Sanved organised the Certificate Awarding Ceremony to celebrate the success of the academic course on Dance Movement Therapy of Batch 2012 on 2nd January 2013 at The Kolkata Sanved Office.
On the occasion of Children’s Day Kolkata Sanved was showcasing Hamari Muskaan Work – an anti-trafficking organization working within Boubazar red- light area for children to access their rights and dignity of life. Children of Hamari Muskaan along with other children were expressing themselves through dance, music, drums, recitation and evening ADDA at Kolkata Sanved Office from 4p.m.-6p.m.
Kolkata Sanved has been collaborating with Dr. Mallika Sarabhai at her performing arts academy, Darpana since 2010. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for our trainees and every year we look forward to a mutually rewarding exchange of our processes of work in the field of dance for therapy and development. 11 trainees from Kolkata Sanved joined this year training programme.
It was for the first time that Kolkata Sanved video team was invited by the Video Volunteers, India Unheard organization for Social news workshop.The workshop was held in Raipur and was a 4 day workshop.
Kolkata Sanved inaugurateed the Kolkata Fusion Fiesta Festival on 8th February at Nicco Park. To create a new routes into arts and culture Pandit Tanmoy Bose with Celebrations International developing ground- breaking programme ‘KOLKATA FUSION FIESTA’ on 8th-10th February 2013. This festival also showcased Kolkata Sanved and speaks how culture can use innovatively to tackle the roots of anti-trafficking. This was the first ever initiative of International Fusion Festival in Eastern India.
Kolkata Sanved was associate partner of this National Seminar and was invited to showcase the whole programme along with performance. This was a 3 day National Seminar organized by Dance Alliance, India and School of Women’s Studies, Jadavpur University. This seminar brought together people from multidisciplinary background, and not necessarily dance scholars only, emphasizing critical scholarship/engagement through research, films and practice.
Kolkata Sanved members conducted a DMT session with 100 students for an Anti-Trafficking event hosted by the American Center. The Kolkata Sanved Dancers also inaugurated a dance performance involving audience to talk about anti-trafficking.
On the occasion of Violence against Women Fortnight Kolkata Sanved collaborated with Population First to highlight the Girl Child Campaign to stop the violence in India by addressing the core issues of discrimination against the girl child. It’s aim was to promote a positive image of the girl child through media and other communication activities.
On 13th sept 2012, Maitree (National Platform for violence against women) along with Parichiti, Jibika and Kolkata Sanved organized a demonstration and met at Dakhinapan to raise their voice against violence against women especially focusing on the recent rape cases in Kolkata city that are on the rise. Four of our Kolkata Sanved performers presented a powerful performance on the stand of women in today’s day and age.
Kolkata Sanved was invited to perform on the launch of GNEWS TAB on 7th September 2012 at Swabhumi. Good News Tab felicitates Kolkata Sanved in their programme for extraordinary work in development sector. GNEWS TAB is Kolkata based tabloid that tales of success that touch lives and make a difference but are usually lost in the cacophony of breaking news. Our communication campaign speaks about how reading such a tabloid will help people DETOX THEIR MIND after reading stories filled with violence, crime, despair, disaster.
Kolkata Sanved was highly showcased during the Secretarial visit of United States, Ms. Hillary Clinton to Kolkata, West Bengal. 10 members from Kolkata Sanved inaugurated the occasion with their performance and even gave a demonstration of Kolkata Sanved DMT process. Mrs. Clinton was greatly moved by the performance and interacted with the girls individually and congratulated them. The event received cover extensively by the electronic and print media.

Kolkata Sanved’s international creative initiative Transforming Steps unites Living Lens U.K, Sadler’s Wells U.K., Jasmine Vardimon Dance Company U.K and Thou Art Yoga Foundation Trinidad to “Stand with Survivors of Sex Trafficking, Stand Against Exploitation’’. Bringing together artist, choreographer, film-maker and development organization, it speaks against sex trafficking and exploitation. The initiative marks a diversity of life experience and real life stories expressed in a thought provoking performance incorporating dance and film.

On December 22nd, Sanved dancers collaborated with the famous musicians Tanmoy Bose and Blossomy in staging a performance entitled, Restoration of Innocence at the Rajarhat City Center in Kolkata. The served as the culmination of a workshop bringing training in dance and music to the survivors of trafficking and gender based violence.
From November 25 through December 10, Kolkata Sanved helped to promote the Fortnight to End Violence Against Women by staging awareness raising performances across Kolkata. In collaboration with Parichiti, a women’s rights organization, our dancers brought awareness to women’s issues to the general public on railway platforms and in local communities. In celebration of Children’s Day on November 14th, Kolkata Sanved staged a grand performance at Max Meuller Bhavan in Kolkata. Hundreds of children who are engaged in our dance movement therapy programs at partner organizations in Kolkata showcased their skills on stage in celebration of children’s rights.
The presentation talks about understanding Tagore in our everyday lives. Understanding which illuminates our consciousness. Glorifies our self and its revelation. This inner light guides our thoughts and actions.

Kolkata Sanved's Founder Director Sohini Chakraborty received the prestigious THE DVF Award 2011. The Awarding ceremony took place at United Nations, New York on 11th March 2011 at the Women in the World Summit.
The DVF Awards was created by Diane von Furstenberg and the Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation to recognize and support women who are using their resources, commitment and visibility to transform the lives of other women. These are women who have had the courage to fight, the power to survive and the leadership to inspire.

Kolkata Sanved and World Dance Alliance (West Bengal) in collaboration with Eastern Zonal Culturul Center (EZCC) celebrated the power of dance with Dance in Outreach focusing on the possible roles of dance as advocacy and how it can and does make a difference to so many lives, especially bringing change in the lives of special children, victim of violence, mentally challenge and children from the disadvantaged strata of society. The programme was inaugurated by Amala Shankar.
Over 101 children and young adults from diverse backgrounds participated in the performance, helping to spread the powerful message of dance. The celebration included works by Kolkata Sanved's own Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) trainers with children from their regular DMT classes at All Bengal Women's Union , APNE AAP Women Worldwide , Nirman and Newlight. A short documentary on one of the DMT trainer's work with mental health patients at Lumbini Park Mental Hospital was also presented.
Sri Gopal Krishna Gandhi, the Governor of West Bengal formally launched Kolkata Sanved's Programme "Saving Lives Through Dance" on March 30, 2007. Through this event, we reached out to the public regarding the Process of Dance Movement Therapy along with the development of the Core Trainers. The trainers played a major role in the whole programme and participated in meetings and networking for the event.
